The Cuisinart DCG 20 Coffee Grinder, apart from being a handsome addition to your countertop or work table, is a sturdy and durable piece of equipment that can quickly and effectively grind coffee beans, spices, and herbs.
Cusinart offers a choice of three colors –black, white, and red. This allows you to match your grinder with your other appliances. It is tubular in construction with a vertical ribbing at one end. This gives support to the grinder and it is where the on/off button is located. Also, it provides a safe and secure way to hold the machine.
Although this grinder was created to grind coffee beans, it can just as effectively grind spices and herbs such as peppercorn, fennel, parsley, basil, flax, cinnamon, or mustard to name a few.
The beans or spices are processed in a stainless steel bowl with a capacity of 70 grams. Inside the bowl is a blade that cuts and crushes the beans or spices in a matter of seconds. When grinding fine coffee beans for an espresso, all you need is 30 seconds. It is also made of stainless steel. A transparent lid covers the bowl. Pushing the on/off button that is equipped with a safety interlock activates the machine.
For cleaning Cuisinart suggests the use of a damp paper towel to wipe the inside of the stainless steel bowl. The lid, on the other hand, can be washed in warm water or in a dishwasher’s top rack.
When not in use, the cord can be stored in a space at the base of the grinder provided for the purpose. This eliminates clutter on your countertop or work table.
