This Polish-made grain mill features a unique two-stage grinding system that assures fine grounds quickly and efficiently. It has a pre-grinding mechanism consisting of blunt teeth that crack grains. These are then moved by an auger towards extra large burrs that completes the grinding process. The burrs are made of iron/steel but they can produce grounds as fine as those produced by stone burrs. The advantage they have over the stone burrs is that there are no stone grits in the flour.
The Diamant can grind almost anything from dry grains to most oily seeds without the need to change augers. Wheat, rye, rice, corn, beans, spices, legumes, sesame seeds, and coffee beans can be ground with this mill. And you have the option of superfine or coarse grounds.
The mill is made of solid cast iron. It is said to be one of the heaviest hand mills worldwide. This means that it is built to last and will probably be handed down to succeeding generations.
It has a V-belt flywheel that is also made of solid cast iron. Although its large diameter makes cranking smooth and easy, you can also motorize it should you plan on grinding sack upon sack of grain. Its cast iron construction can definitely withstand the stress of continuous motorized grinding.
Should you opt to stay manual, the long handle on the flywheel provides enough room for two hands. You can ask your spouse or you kids to help in grinding and have fun together preparing healthy and nutritious meals for the family.
I’m looking for this Diamant mill, however I couldn’t find anywhere in Poland. Does anyone know, who is manufacturing this mill?
