Miracle Exclusives Mincer & Grinder T30

This Italian-made mincer and grinder is a very versatile piece of kitchen tool. It can cut, chop, mince, and puree. It does all these with its stainless steel blades that are spun by a 550-watt motor.

The Miracle Exclusives Mincer & Grinder T30 is cylindrical in shape standing 25 cm tall with a diameter of 16.5 cm. It has a lid made of clear plastic while the rest of its body is in white. Pressing this lid activates the machine. Since it is transparent you can see inside into the milling chamber to check for the grounds’ consistency. The finer you want your grounds, the longer you will need to press the lid.

This system of switching has the advantage of totally eliminating the possibility of starting the machine without the lid on. This means you will never cut your fingers while pouring food into the milling chamber by accidentally turning it on. It also means no food flying all over your kitchen.

When you are satisfied with the fineness of your grounds, simply remove the lid and lift the milling chamber out. This makes dispensing easy, after which you can wash them in your dishwasher. The chamber can accommodate a little over 225 grams.

The Mincer & Grinder T30 can grind spices, seeds, nuts, beans, and even grains to extremely fine textures. It can also mince herbs, vegetable, cheese, and even meat into very fine pieces. Since it can take both dry and oily food, it can make flour, peanut butter, cornmeal, and hummus.

A cord storage compartment is provided at the bottom of the grinder for an uncluttered work table when not in use if you opt to leave it on your work table.

KitchenAid Blade Coffee Grinder

Several coffee grinders in the market have been employed not only for grinding coffee beans but different kinds of spices as well. And they have been doing a good job of it.
Among them is the KitchenAid Blade Coffee Grinder.

This grinder uses a stainless steel blade that is permanently attached to the inside of the grinding bowl. It mills coffee beans and spices. It can easily crush or mince peppercorns, cinnamon, cumin, parsley, allspice berries, coriander and other spices. The blade is spun by a 200-watt motor encased in a plastic casing at the bottom of the grinder.

The beans or spices to be ground are contained in a brushed stainless steel bowl that can carry four ounces. It rests atop the motor and is locked onto it with a simple clockwise turn. A clear polycarbonate lid covers the bowl. Depressing this cover activates the machine. As a safety feature, the blades will not operate unless this lid is in place.

Grinding 1/3 cup of spices can take up to 90 seconds if you prefer fine grounds. For a coarser texture, 25 seconds is sufficient.

The top cover and the bowl are both dishwasher safe, while the rest of the grinder can be cleaned with a damp clean cloth.

The motor’s casing can be black, blue, red, or white. Regardless of the color, the plastic has a sheen that matches the stainless steel bowl. This combination renders the KitchenAir Blade Coffee Grinder not only functional but also elegant. With a height of 8.5 inches and a footprint of only 4.5 inches diameter, it can be another decoration on your countertop.

Sumeet Multi Grind

Sumeet Multi Grind
The Sumeet Multi Grind is a compact yet heavy duty wet and dry grinder and mixer. It stands approximately 13 inches and has a diameter at its base of six inches. From the base, it tapers upwards to a stainless steel jar with a blade inside, also in stainless steel. The jar is covered with a domed polycarbonate lid that is unbreakable, at the top of which is attached a lever with a knobbed handle at its end.
The jar rests on a 400-watt, ½ horsepower motor that spins the stainless steel blade inside. This combination can grind virtually any kind of spice you can think of putting inside the jar, and quickly too. It can handle peppercorns, herbs, dried red chilies, ginger roots, coconuts, lemon grass, peanuts, almonds, garlic, and even grains as rice and corn. These can be turned into fine power as a dry grind, or thick paste as wet grind. It can also turn ice cubes into fine ice crumbles in seconds.
The lever at the top of the dome is a built-in stirrer which you can use to mix the spices while grinding. As it spreads the spices inside the jar evenly, you are assured of a uniform texture of your powder or paste. Also, it scrapes the sides of the jar pushing back grounds that had adhered to them back towards the whirling blades.
The stainless steel jar is easily removed from the grinder for trouble-free cleaning.

Hamilton Beach Custom Grind Deluxe

Hamilton Beach Custom Grind Deluxe

The Hamilton Beach Custom Grind Deluxe was manufactured as a coffee bean grinder. Users, however, found out that it could function just as well as a spice grinder.

A stainless steel grinding chamber sits atop a black plastic bottom which houses the grinder’s motor. A transparent safety top covers the chamber and is locked unto catches on the grinder’s body. Apart from covering the chamber, it also serves as a safety device that prevents the motor from running unless it is properly locked.

There is a knob just below the grinding chamber with labels that read percolator, drip, and espresso. You can use these as a guide when choosing the consistency of your spice grounds. Coarse coffee grounds are for percolators, medium for drip coffee makers, and fine for espresso machines. Setting the grinder at percolator will thus give you coarsely ground spices.

A steel blade rotates within the grinding chamber to grind coffee beans or spices according to your settings within seconds, after which it shuts off automatically. Cleaning the chamber is easily accomplished because it is removable and dishwasher-safe. The plastic body can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

The Hamilton Beach Custom Grind Deluxe stands 9.45 inches tall and has a diameter of 5.5 inches. As the power cord can be retracted when not in use, it does not unnecessarily clutter up your kitchen. These, along with the combination of the stainless steel chamber and black plastic body, make it a suitable appliance for display in contemporary kitchens.

William Bounds Electric Flax Seed Mill

William Bounds Electric Flax Seed Mill

Flax seeds are increasingly becoming popular among health-conscious individuals because of their high concentration of lignans and Omega-3 fatty acids. The cost, however, of pre-milled flax seeds available in groceries and supermarkets can come as a shock to shoppers. A reasonable alternative is to purchase your own mill and process your own flax seeds.

One of the flax seed mills offered in the market is the William Bounds Electric Flax Seed Mill. This mill uses a ceramic grinding mechanism that spins at very high revolutions. This rapid spin is necessary because flax seeds, although they are quite light, have extremely tough outer shells. It also has settings for fine, medium, coarse grounds.

Apart from flax seeds, this mill can also be used to grind sesame seeds and Celtic sea salt. The mill grinders, being ceramic, are resistant to corrosion and, indeed, William Bounds provides a lifetime warranty on them. Cleaning the mill is not a problem because disassembling it is easy and trouble-free.

The mill stands almost seven inches tall with a diameter of approximately 3½ inches. It is made of sleek white plastic with a transparent top allowing you to actually see the amount of flax seeds in the mill. You do not need to keep this mill in your cupboard. You can leave it on your countertop or table as it has a very small footprint and an attractive design.

Power is supplied to the grinders either by four AA batteries, or by AC electric power through a supplied adaptor.
