Hawo’s Billy 100

Hawo's Billy 100

The Hawo’s Billy 100 is housed in a beech plywood casing that is made of thin cross-laminated layers of wood. These layers were subjected to extremely high pressures when bonded resulting to a compact, durable, and stable piece of plywood.

The main case is rectangular with a spout in front and an adjustment lever and a power switch on its left. The hopper, with a 1.3 kg capacity, looks like an inverted pyramid whose pointed tip is embedded into the main case. The lines are clean and elegant making it an attractive addition to any kitchen.

Inside the case are 100 mm-diameter milling stones of corundum in ceramic that are self-sharpening and infinitely adjustable. This allows you to choose the precise consistency you want for your grounds. The stones are powered by a 360-watt brushless motor. With this combination, Billy 100 can produce 125 g of fine flour per minute.

Among the grains that it can process are wheat, spelt, rye, barley, oats, corn, millet, rice, linseed, dried peas, chickpeas, coffee, and quinoa. It can also handle spices such as coriander, cloves, fennel, caraway, allspice, cumin, cardamom, and peppercorn.

The grains and spices from the hopper fall into a milling chamber that is made of food light plastic where the millstones work on them. The millstones themselves rest on an elastic bedding. This makes the Billy 100 one of the quietest mills available, producing a noise level of less than 70dB.

Hawo’s Billy 100 measures 385 mm high and 210 mm wide and deep. It weighs 8.8 kg.
